Meet Mrs. Baity
My name is Tonya Baity and I am the Exceptional Children's Compliance Case Manager for Tyro Middle and Churchland Elementary. I am no stranger to the Dragon Community as I was a student at Reeds Elementary, Tyro Middle and West Davidson. I know many of the students at Tyro Middle because I taught at Tyro Elementary for 7 years. I love being a Green Dragon!
I have been in education for 25 years. I previously taught 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th and 8th grades. I have also served Davidson County Schools as a Lead Teacher and Assistant Principal. In 2016 I was selected as Davidson County School's Teacher of the Year. I graduated from Catawba College with a degree in Elementary Education and I received my Masters in School Administration from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. I also have my certification for Special Education and Academically Gifted.
