Dr. Fred L. Mock STARS Academy

The Fred L. Mock STARS Academy will be held at Central Davidson Middle School July 22-25 from 8:30 AM to 12 PM. This experience offers students an opportunity to develop and use leadership skills and take leadership roles in their individual schools and communities. The Academy also emphasizes skill development in the areas of decision-making, self-confidence, community responsibility, and cooperation. 

 

Any 6th or 7th grade student is welcome to apply. Participants will be selected based on their application and the recommendation of their teacher. Students are responsible for securing a teacher recommendation (current or within one year) and the application must be completed in the student's own handwriting. The deadline to return applications is May 3rd, 2024.

 

A non-refundable $25 registration fee is due for each student selected by June 7th. Participation for all four days is mandatory and transportation is NOT provided. Students will be notified (by letter) of the status of their application by mid-May. Parents are invited to attend a closing ceremony on Thursday, July 25th at Central Davidson Middle School.
